About the project
The value of a cold store is decided in its yard. Produce arrives on tractors and small trucks and has to be unloaded, graded and moved into the store without crossing the path of vehicles leaving.
The layout separates the two flows. The collection centre sits at the entrance so incoming produce is handled immediately; the main cold store and its cooling tank sit at the far end of the site with their own turning area. Administration and toilets are grouped along the eastern boundary, away from the working yard.
