About the project
Integrated settlements are usually drawn as a grid and then forced onto the hill. Here the houses step along the contours instead, which cuts the earthwork sharply and gives every unit a level plinth and a view down the valley.
A single access spine climbs through the settlement, widening at intervals into shared space. The long community block sits at the entrance where it is reached first, and each house keeps its own garden plot behind.
